Join us for a heartfelt evening as we honor Imam Khalid Latif for two decades of visionary leadership, compassion, and unwavering dedication to our community and his work at ICNYU. This special event serves as both a farewell and a celebration - recognizing Imam Khalid’s 20 years of service and marking his exciting transition into a new chapter as he leads the newly founded Islamic Center of New York City.

This night aspires to be a moment of transition and triumph — recognizing the profound legacy he leaves behind and the visionary future he steps into. Through stories, reflections, and community spirit, we intend to express our deep gratitude and rally around his next chapter. We hope each of you will join us as we gather alongside with friends, colleagues, and community members to reflect, celebrate, and send Imam Khalid forward with our deepest gratitude and unwavering support.

Friday, August 15th

We are thrilled to invite you to a community celebration for Imam Khalid Latif’s remarkable legacy at the Islamic Center of NYU and to warmly welcome his exciting new chapter with the Islamic Center of NYC (ICNYC). Join us for a special evening filled with inspiring programming, food, and the joy of connecting with old and new friends. Enjoy an evening of merriment and hear from a lineup of speakers who will honor Imam Khalid’s profound impact in New York and beyond.  

  • Run of Program: 

    • 5:30pm: Doors Open (Drinks and Small Bites are served)

    • 6:45pm - 8pm: Evening Program Begins on Stage

    • 8:15pm: Communal Prayer

    • 9pm: Program ends 

    • 10pm: After party at ICNYC!

  • This event is a standing reception, so hors d’oeuvres will be served along with other light food options.

  • There is a coat & bag check for an additional charge if you would like to keep items by the door. Otherwise we advise you to keep items on your person.

  • You will receive 1 drink ticket at check-in in which you can use to redeem a free mocktail. Additional drinks will be available to be purchased at the cash bar. Water will be available.

  • The event will be photographed and recorded but not livestreamed.
